Fun While Sorting Shapes

It can be an amazing experience to watch your child as he or she begins to learn about the many textures, shapes and colors in the world. One of the big milestones that you wait for as a parent is the ability to sort out different shapes. You may remember from when you were younger that you had different wooden puzzles where you could match up the shapes and place the puzzle pieces in. While those sorts of wooden puzzles are still available today, there is also a fairly decent list of other shape sorting toys that really encourage this stage of development.

One of the coolest shape sorting toys available today happens to be the Smart Safari Gator. This is a fabulous learning toy that is made by Learning resources. The Smart Safari Gator has plenty of great shapes that children enjoy working with to help them build their valuable coordination skills. There are actually six different shapes that children can work with that also happen to be different colors. While they work on placing these shapes in their proper place, the gator even makes fun chomping noises! Once children close the mouth of this playful gator, all of the shapes pop out so they can work on it again.
