All parents  want to encourage reading as a preferred activity for our kids.  Although not always the easiest thing in the world after a long and tiring day, reading out loud to your children can have a number of benefits. Whether in the morning during breakfast or at night right before bed even dedicating a few minutes a day to reading to your children can help them to develop their love of books and the spoken and written word while also bringing you closer together.

Do you read aloud to your kids?

Reading is a great habit to have and trying to pass down the love of reading can be difficult. Letting your children see and hear for themselves how much you enjoy it can motivate them to pick up a book themselves.  Also, reading aloud can be a great way to help children relax and focus on something more then themselves.

About SensoryEdge 174 Articles
Articles written by SensoryEdge are a combined effort of the SensoryEdge publishing staff. At SensoryEdge our focus is to educate, inform, and inspire each person caring for children to be and do their very best. It is not always easy and sometimes we don't take action (or we take the wrong action) because of a lack of understanding the real issues. We hope that the conversations that occur here will help in some small way better the lives of children, their families, and the professionals who work with them.
