I sit on the coolest rug in the world. It’s not just a rug — it’s like a party of dots! There are red ones, blue ones, purple, orange, even slime green (my favorite). It’s called the Just Teach Polka Dots Rug, but I call it the Magic Dot Rug.
And guess what? There’s someone who lives on it. Her name is Polly Polka.
Polly’s not a teacher, but she kind of is. She’s this bouncy bobblehead with dot shoes, dot shirt, and rainbow hair clips that wiggle when she moves. She’s always smiling and holding a tiny chalkboard with secret messages only kids can read.
“Learning can POP like a confetti cannon!”
The First Nervous Day
When I first came to school, I was nervous. What if I sat on the wrong color? What if I talked too loud or spilled my snack?
Polly Polka winked at me — I swear she did — and whispered: “Pick a dot. Any dot. It’s your space to shine.”
So I picked yellow. It felt happy.

Now I sit on a different dot every day. Each color means something different — and Polly says if you follow the Dot Code, everything gets a little better.

One day, the class got a little wild. Mark threw his eraser. Lily shouted about a butterfly. I almost started jumping on dots like a game of hopscotch.
But then Polly Polka gave me that look — you know, the teacher-eyes-but-in-a-fun-way.
So I sat criss-cross on my dot, took a deep breath, and started the secret chant:
a spot of hot!”
The class got quieter. Lily sat too. Even Mark found a blue dot and stopped tossing stuff.
