Hospital Waiting Room Design: Photo Tour of Stamford Hospital MOB

The Stamford Hospital MOB (Medical Office Building) is an alternate way to organize Hospital Waiting Room Design that facilitates an increasing number of patients. The MOB features communal resources and promotes staff interaction in ways that are unplanned and therefore foster more comprehensive patient care.

A tour of the MOB reveals centralized locations for doctors who oversee a small group of assistants. These doctors would oversee the procedures in their pod.  The assistants have equal access to resources like medical equipment, x-ray facilities, and other diagnostic tools. The goal of this innovative design in hospital layout is to quickly and efficiently care for patients in a manner that is more attentive than traditional care and to better support physician integration and collaboration between the staff.

About SensoryEdge 174 Articles
Articles written by SensoryEdge are a combined effort of the SensoryEdge publishing staff. At SensoryEdge our focus is to educate, inform, and inspire each person caring for children to be and do their very best. It is not always easy and sometimes we don't take action (or we take the wrong action) because of a lack of understanding the real issues. We hope that the conversations that occur here will help in some small way better the lives of children, their families, and the professionals who work with them.
